Keeping the Home Clean

It was always a challenge for me growing up to keep my room clean. I never learned that skill of cleaning up after yourself and "as you go" cleaning. This carried onto into my adulthood and marriage. I'm fortunate enough my husband didn't grow up with the same habits, but mimics whatever I do in the home. So if it's a mess the coat is dropped on the couch, but if it is clean he hangs it on it's hook.

Since becoming a stay at home mom about two years ago I feel as if it's my responsibility to keep the home clean, and it's my fault when it's a mess. I've always been good at making sure things are "clean" just not so good at things being picked up and put away. So I've decided to focus on changing this, so my daughter will grow up with good habits. It's also a safety concern with a toddler, easy to trip or find things she shouldn't be exploring.

Room by room I will grow this daily cleaning habit until hopefully someday I can easily have anyone drop by without notice and not feel so embarrassed. The living is first, I've been able to maintain it for about a month now. Vacuuming the rug almost every day, when everything is picked up you can see crumbs and such on the rug. It takes me about 20 minutes a day but it's necessary in such a small area. How do you keep your home clean?

The Beginning

The beginning of this blog is not to make money or even to reach out to many people, but to tell my story.  I want to leave something behind and hope that I may have just a little influence on others.  Everyone has a story to tell, why there are so many blogs out there.  I am blessed with a beautiful daughter, Abigail, that is 21 months old. I hope you enjoy my story and I would love to learn more about yours! Feel free to email me personally at andreakuntze@yahoo.com.

Best Wishes,
Andrea
